SCOTT MACMILLAN: NEWS FOR FALL 2008
This fall will see Scott Macmillan shifting his focus towards his new role as a Part-Time Academic at Dalhousie University in the Music Dept teaching Guitar, while maintaining his extensive creative and freelance activities
Spring of 2008 was an intensive and creative time for Macmillan. Scott was Musician-in-Residence with the St. Cecilia Concert Society and during that time he premiered to much acclaim two new concert works, Within Sight of Shore and Currents of Sable Island. Among other activities over the summer Scott returned to Chéticamp as Music Director during the annual presentation of Le Grand Cercle.
Starting September 4th Scott’s 30 plus years as freelance composer, conductor guitarist will take a twist and he will add Guitar Instructor as a Part-Time Academic at Dalhousie University in the Music Dept. in Halifax. He is very much looking forward to working with Guitar Dept. head, Doug Reach, and the other Music Dept faculty this 2008/2009 academic year.
Scott will still be an active player on the freelance scene including the following gigs coming up this fall….
